REVIEWS OF "THIS WEEK'S DARLINGS" |
"This Week's Darlings" At "The Trailbreaker" Festival Isle Of Wight. Reviewed by CDDKIMUSIK.COM Review Team
We were really fortunate to be able to secure the gig on the Isle of Wight and even though it wasn't the Isle of Wight Festival we all had a great day and the evening was something else.
After a pleasant crossing from Southampton to Cowes in the early afternoon of 25th May 2003
we arrived at the venue not really knowing what to expect. Our early arrival meant that we were able to take in some of the beautiful scenery in the Shanklyn Sandown area of the Island. We arrived back at the venue just in time for us to get away with not having to do any "roadying" and were able to spend a little time with band before they got on stage and rocked the marquee.
The band played 2 brilliant sets and I think that everyone there really enjoyed the evening. Their set pieces were performed with excellence and it was not long before people in the audience were dancing and getting into the sound of "This Week's Darlings". Everyone we spoke to were well impressed with the entertainment we had help provide for this event.
Playing in field in a marquee is not always that easy especially with an audience who are really into something totally different, but "This Week's Darlings" provided a TOP Class performance and an amazing evening was had by everyone. It is a pleasure to know such a talented bunch of great people who can enthrall all types of audiences with their unique sound and their ability to pull the audience onto their side irrespective of the type of event.
Some tracks they play really stick in your head and have a major impact, like "Show Me" "Look In Books" and "Wonderful".
These really are masterpieces in their own right and provide an
opportunity for the band to really show their abilities and professionalism by recreating these Live. This band is TOPs when it comes to Live Pewrformances and we would highly recommend you book them for your venue/function as soon as you can.
Playing a couple of covers, a couple of laid back mellow numbers and of This Week's Darlings" own Rock numbers they appealed to all who were present - it's no wonder that record companies are chasing this band - they are capable and competent musicians who can hold their own at any event/function/festival or venue and we can see an amazing future ahead of them.

CDDKMUSIK.COM ROCK SHOWCASE"This Week's Darlings" At The Joiner's Arms St Mary's Southampton Reviewed by CDDKIMUSIK.COM Review Team
As usual "The Darlings" made a major impact on their audience on this their first visit to Southampton.
The set they played was confidently and precisely carried out and with their usual friendly natures they soon won over the crowd.
The band settled into their performance quickly and soon had members of the audience dancing to their own unique style of melodic rock music.
The performances by all the band members were absolutely spot on and only confirmed how talented and capable these boys really are.
Excellent performance and most enjoyable set. Well done to "This Weeks Darlings" - you definately entertained Southampton
and you are welcome back anytime!
