REVIEW OF THE BAND
SOHNEE

At The Joiners Arms, Southampton - 12th March 2004

Reviewed by Ann & Peter

Five bands in one night but only one really stood out and that was Sohnee. They were well presented and they enjoyed what they were doing..there was no false moodiness one sees in so many present bands , the songs were interesting and clear. I particularly liked 'sleep while I choke' which plumbed depths of despair with such insight. I liked the way they interacted with the audiance especially after seeing the first band who did not look at the audiance and argued with each other on stage. I understand the singer wrote the songs and on the free c.d's they gave out he had done all the recording himself prior to getting the other men involved. The lead guitarist reminded me of a young Keith Richards certainly a guy with the right attitude. I have played the c.d since and it certainly entertains and I look forward to the next gig that Sohnee play.
